May 1, 2020 Webinar Series for Nonprofit Organizations
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on local nonprofit organizations. Beyond our grantmaking work, Community Foundation Sonoma County offers educational resources for these nonprofits, which have been adapted for the current shelter in place orders. As we navigate the uncertainty together, we have planned and sponsored a number of online events to help organizations adjust. We hope this series of upcoming webinars will assist in supporting local nonprofits through the changing landscape of leadership, connection, and community.
The interactive webinars will provide accurate information, practical answers, actionable strategies, and a forum for sharing, and are offered in collaboration with The Ginnie & Peter Haas Jr. Fund, Marin Community Foundation, The Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) and Partnership Resources Group (PRG).

Nonprofit Boards play a vital role in the health and success of every nonprofit organization during a crisis. Hear from Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL)’s internal governance expert, Linda Jacobs, and learn ways to analyze the relationship and shared responsibilities between organizational leadership and the Board of Directors. In this training you’ll hear from Community Foundation Sonoma County’s Director of Communications Caitlin Childs and Vice President for Community Impact Karin Demarest. This webinar will explore:
- The technical side of Zoom:how to prepare for and set up your Zoom meetings, how to create event reminders that get people’s attention, and how to manage your participants during the meeting.
- The human side of Zoom:how to adapt your in-person meetings to the virtual setting and how to be an effective facilitator.
Navigating Uncertainty: Philanthropy’s Trends and Practical Tips for Your Fundraising
