There are more than 35 Legacy and new scholarship funds available to assist Sonoma County students who are seeking financial assistance with higher education, whether in post-secondary, graduate, or professional degrees.

Community Foundation Sonoma County has partnered with 10,000 Degrees to administer our donor-advised scholarships since 2013. The mission of 10,000 Degrees is to help students from low-income backgrounds get to and through college in order to positively impact their communities and the world. Since 1981 they have put more than 20,000 students from low-income families on the path to a college degree.

Applying For Scholarships

Basic Scholarship Qualifications – Community Foundation Sonoma County and 10,000 Degrees provide scholarships to Sonoma County residents with significant financial need who exhibit a strong desire to attend and complete higher education (e.g. junior college, trade and vocational school, and four-year colleges and universities), and who have demonstrated the perseverance necessary to graduate and accomplish their educational goals. Some donor-advised scholarship funds have additional eligibility requirements and will consider applications from students attending graduate school or completing professional degrees, such as in medicine and law.

One application administered by 10,000 Degrees allows students to apply for all undergraduate scholarship funds.

More information about 10,000 Degrees can be found on their website or by contacting staff.
