Seeking Qualified Consultants for State of the Nonprofit Community Study

Our nonprofits take care of Sonoma County. They feed families, care for our land, keep the arts alive, and step up when our neighbors need it most.

To support them in that work, we’re launching the State of the Nonprofit Community Study for Sonoma County. It’s a countywide look at how our nonprofit sector is doing, what it needs, and how we can all help it thrive.

As your community foundation, we invest in information that helps us, and everyone who cares about this place, make good decisions. The most useful information always comes from the people doing the work. This study will give us a clear picture of the local nonprofit landscape and produce practical recommendations to strengthen our community for years to come.

To do this well, we need skilled people at the table leading the research. We are seeking individuals and firms with expertise in one or more of these areas:

  • Research and data analysis

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Group process facilitation

We invite applicants to submit qualifications for either the full scope of work or for one or more individual services areas. Qualified applications will also be considered for a pre-qualified vendor pool that supports other work happening in the community.

Key Dates:

  • RFQ Released: Wednesday, October 21, 2026

  • Submissions Due: Wednesday, November 18, 2026, by 5:00 pm

Questions? Reach out to Jeanette Pantoja at jpantoja@sonomacf.org

What we learn through the study will help nonprofits, donors, funders, policymakers, and community members make decisions rooted in what’s happening in Sonoma County. It’s an opportunity to make sense of our findings together and build something that fits our community’s unique challenges and opportunities.
