Steph Curry & Family Win $25,000 for our Sonoma County Resilience Fund
Steph Curry prevailed against Chris Paul once again in a showdown on ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud on Sunday June 24th. The stakes? A $25,000 donation to the player’s charity of choice. The Curry Family win means a $25,000 donation will be made to our very own Sonoma County Resilience Fund, which was established in October 2017 to support long-term fire recovery following the devastating wildfires that struck Sonoma County, destroying more than 5,300 homes and 126 businesses.
We are incredibly grateful to the Curry family for keeping the spotlight on Sonoma County and supporting long-term fire recovery!
The Resilience Fund is the largest long-term recovery fund in Sonoma County, making grants to support organizations working towards fire recovery in three key areas:
Helping individuals impacted by the fires
Healing the long-term effects of trauma
Housing solutions for our community
We feel a special connection to Steph Curry here at Community Foundation, not just as fans of our home team, the Golden State Warriors, but because our CEO Elizabeth Brown is a fellow Davidson alumn! This small college in North Carolina has a student body of only 1,810 attendees. Elizabeth is proud to represent a small school with alumni doing big things for their community!
