Together, we're building a Sonoma County where everyone belongs.
The Fund for Belonging invests in immigrant communities through grants, collaboration, and civic leadership.
Sonoma County For All
Immigrant communities are at the heart of Sonoma County. Their contributions make our region vibrant, resilient, and full of possibility. Yet too many of our neighbors continue to face systemic barriers—made even harder by volatile political environments, public health crises, and climate-driven disasters.
The Fund for Belonging is our community’s answer to these challenges. Through targeted grants, strategic partnerships, and bold civic leadership, the fund provides critical support to immigrant families and the organizations that serve them. Together, we are working toward a Sonoma County where every immigrant feels welcomed, supported, and able to thrive.
Giving to the Fund for Belonging is an investment in the very fabric of our community. Your generosity helps create the conditions for belonging: access to justice, opportunities to succeed, and a true pathway to the American Dream.
Now is the time to act. Join us in building a powerful coalition of donors, nonprofits, and community leaders committed to equity and belonging. Together, we can ensure Sonoma County is a place where every immigrant family has the chance to flourish.
Double Your Impact
An anonymous donor has stepped forward with a $500,000 challenge grant to launch the Fund for Belonging.
That means the full $500,000 will only be unlocked if we raise $500,000 together from our community by the end of 2025. When we meet the challenge, we’ll have $1 million to invest in safety, opportunity, and belonging for immigrant families across Sonoma County.

Fund Priorities & Strategy
At its heart, the Fund for Belonging is about safety, dignity, and opportunity. Guided by local research and the voices of immigrant families, the Fund focuses on the most urgent needs and the long-term systems that create belonging.
The needs facing immigrant communities in Sonoma County are urgent. Rather than wait for additional funding, we brought together aligned funds at CFSC and launched our first round of grantmaking in August 2025. These initial grants will help families find trusted information, safe spaces, and pathways to economic stability — but with your support, we can do so much more.
Our 2025 grantmaking will support three key priorities:

Trusted Information
Multilingual, timely immigration updates delivered through community partners people already know and trust.

Spaces of Belonging
Culturally responsive places to gather, celebrate, and access care — including mental health support in one’s own language.

Pathways to Work
Job security and training, small business support, and entrepreneurship opportunities so families can build stability and contribute fully to our local economy.
