We value partnerships that strengthen a shared vision.

Our affiliate partners enable residents in their geographical areas to realize philanthropic potential within the local community. Each affiliate has its own local board members, donors, and grantmaking program. Affiliates benefit from Community Foundation’s resources, including a comprehensive investment program, professional services, grantmaking expertise, legal knowledge, and administrative support.

Healdsburg Forever

Founded in 2003 to serve the greater Healdsburg area—including Geyserville, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and parts of Russian River Valley—this affiliate has granted some $760,000 to 56 nonprofit organizations since its inception. With a $1.4 million endowment, the Healdsburg Forever Fund gave over $130,000 to 18 nonprofits in 2016 alone. Such giving showcases what Community Foundations do best, which is to know exactly what the needs of its community members are and to serve them nimbly.

Sonoma Valley Fund

Since 2007, Community Foundation Sonoma County and the Sonoma Valley Fund have awarded more than $4.8 million in grants and scholarships in Sonoma Valley. SVF’s mission is to strengthen the community through philanthropy and legacy giving.

Supporting Organizations

A supporting organization is a separate charity that, like a private foundation, is typically funded by one family. Unlike a private foundation, it is not subject to rigorous operating restrictions and excise taxes. We partner with a number of supporting organizations, each with its own unique philanthropic goals and approach, which operate under Community Foundation’s charitable umbrella. Each has its own board, investment policies, grant priorities, and charitable status in support of our charitable mission and purpose. We facilitate the start-up, help appoint the board, manage investments, and administer grants and financial reporting.

Chop’s Teen Club

Chop’s offers a place for teens to become workforce ready, prepare for college, improve study habits, join clubs, serve the community, and take part in art, music culinary, barista training, sewing, pottery, and sports programs. In 2016, Chop’s experienced 19,600 teen visits which is an increase of 2,600 visits.

Oliver Ranch Foundation
