Our affiliate partners enable residents in their geographical areas to realize philanthropic potential within the local community. Each affiliate has its own local board members, donors, and grantmaking program. Affiliates benefit from Community Foundation’s resources, including a comprehensive investment program, professional services, grantmaking expertise, legal knowledge, and administrative support.
Founded in 2003 to serve the greater Healdsburg area—including Geyserville, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and parts of Russian River Valley—this affiliate has granted some $575,000 to 44 nonprofit organizations since its inception. With a $1.3 million endowment, the Healdsburg Forever Fund gave over $10,000 to 14 nonprofits in 2014 alone. Such giving showcases what Community Foundations do best, which is to know exactly what the needs of its citizens are and to serve them nimbly.
Established in 2007, the Sonoma Valley Fund works with 22 nonprofit partners, helping them to develop endowment and legacy giving programs. Community Foundation Sonoma County and the Sonoma Valley Fund have awarded more than $2.7 million in grants and scholarships since the Fund began, giving over half a million in 2013. The Sonoma Valley Fund provides an important lifeline to its resident community.
