Olivia is a knowledge-seeking individual who naturally found her way into the nonprofit world. She describes her work at Community Foundation Sonoma County so far as “inspiring” as she regularly gains new knowledge.

Since joining the team back in January, Olivia has served as an in between connection for the Community Foundation and other nonprofits in Sonoma County. Her communication and research skills as well as her experience in project management and strategic planning, make Olivia an excellent fit as the Community Foundation’s grants coordinator.

With a bachelor’s degree in art history and a master’s in Arts Leadership, Olivia found herself working in other nonprofits before joining the Foundation. Prior to her joining the CFSC team, Olivia worked with the University of San Francisco in their Office of Development. While at USF, Olivia helped coordinate a multitude of events, one being a virtual event that focused on the Black Lives Matter movement, social justice, activism and the power of education featuring Steph Curry and Dr. Clarence B. Jones, which helped raise nearly $200,000 for The USF Institute for Nonviolence and Social Justice.

Born and raised in Texas, Olivia also worked at the Children’s Museum of Houston supporting their educational and visitor programs. Her favorite events were focused on the Museum’s Makerspace, introducing kids to woodworking, 3D printers and beginner coding, and the annual Caturday event, where she and her cat Millie, would promote the cat-themed extravaganza event on the local news stations.

Olivia fell in love with Sonoma County quite quickly despite her deep Texas roots. She admires Sonoma County’s tight-knit community and is happy to be a part of it. She enjoys visiting her local farmer’s market, and spending time with her dogs, cats (Millie included), and her boyfriend. When Olivia is not at work, Olivia applies her creativity into creating linocut art pieces. In fact, Olivia’s creative talents have allowed her to start her own online shop designed for her art.
