July 25, 2018 Carol Beattie
After more than 30 years of living in Los Altos, raising a family, while working on the Peninsula and South Bay, Carol moved to Healdsburg in March 2014.
Carol’s careers have spanned from administration of justice to fundraising, most recently working at her alma mater, San Jose State University. SJSU entered into a comprehensive campaign in 2008, where she was the sole development director for the College of Science. Her work included developing key strategies with the Dean in support of the college initiatives, building a portfolio of prospective donors, creating a volunteer campaign leadership team, and coaching key administrative leaders in prospect and donor engagement, realizing 90% of the College’s campaign goal.
During her time in Sonoma County, Carol has provided pro-bono fundraising strategies and support to a handful of non-profits. A board member of the Healdsburg Forever Community Foundation, Carol chairs the Growth Committee, in which capacity she co-created a growth strategy and led the tactical outreach to prospective new donors and ambassadors. She also serves as vice chair leading the Executive Committee for Healdsburg Forever, and sits as a member of the Development Committee for Community Foundation Sonoma County.
Carol is a weekly volunteer with Farm to Pantry and a weekend volunteer docent at Oliver Ranch, bringing together her love of art and hiking. She also served as a trustee for a private school for 8 years with leadership roles in development, governance, and city/community relations.
Carol’s two adult children, Tierney and James, live in Seattle and San Francisco respectively. Carol is proud of her children’s developing footsteps in philanthropy, supporting causes as they grow their interests and careers.
