Visit the Charles M. Schulz Museum!

If pundits and politicos have left you spinning in recent weeks, re-adjust your wheels and head towards the Schulz Museum for a truly heart-warming and patriotic affair. Prepare to “oooh”, “ahhhh”, and wax nostalgic over the amazing factoids and memorabilia on display at the Mr. Schulz Goes to Washington exhibition. This unique reflection on the lighter-side of politics and its intersection with life of Charles Schulz only runs until January 22, 2017.

Visitors can write a postcard to the future president and vote from a selection of their favorite Peanuts characters for President! (FYI, presidential winners are updated weekly on the museums website – and you may be surprised by who won by a landslide this week). In a year of political theater you might wish you could forget, this is an experience you’re sure to remember.

While you are at the Museum, peruse the interactive Lucky Dogs and Presidential Pets exhibition which features photos and facts about presidential pets. Several Presidential libraries have loaned the Schulz special items including the leash of President Franklin Roosevelt’s dog, Fala, and a painting of Rex, the Reagan family dog. Woof! Each component demonstrates the culture, economic and political relationships in the United States at the time.

In case you missed the Schulz’s international news, the largest ever Snoopy exhibition Hello again, Snoopy opened October 8, 2016 at the Snoopy Museum in Tokyo, Japan. 84 original comic strips, an animated history of Snoopy, and Snoopy-related memorabilia and products will be on display through April 9, 2017. If a glimpse of the Snoopy chandelier designed by artist Kim Songhe (including over 100 Snoopy plushes) isn’t a compelling enough reason to grab your camera, pack a bag, and rack up some serious frequent flyer miles, maybe you didn’t hear about the Snoopy look-alike contest? We absolutely cannot wait to see pictures from that event!

The offerings are aplenty at the Schulz Museum. We are so fortunate to have this iconic institution, right in our backyard. Bring your friends, bring your family, and prepare for a day of fun only the Peanuts gang can deliver. There’s a little something for everyone.

And here is a little extra distraction from the election:

I love a dog. He does nothing for political reasons.
