The people of Sonoma County are already the beneficiaries of hundreds of gifts entrusted
to the Community Foundation by generous citizens. These gifts may take the form of bequests,
charitable remainder trusts, pooled income fund contributions, gifts of life insurance, or other types
of charitable planned gifts. Whatever form these gifts take, the generosity and foresight of these
donors are helping assure that there are resources for important nonprofit programs for decades to come.

Common Ways to Leave a Legacy
Please Notify Us!
If you decide to leave a planned gift to the Community Foundation, please let us know. We want to make
sure we have your wishes on record to properly carry them out after your lifetime. In most cases, we will set
up a fund agreement that documents exactly how your fund should be used and which organizations or
causes should benefit. For more information on the fund options available to you, see Establishing a Fund.
The Legacy Society
Recognizing that it is a special type of person who provides for the future of his or her community, the
Community Foundation established the Legacy Society to acknowledge and thank these donors during
their lifetimes. Please call us if you would like to join.
To learn more about the Legacy Society, please contact Kay
Marquet or
call the Community Foundation at 707/579-4073.
