Community Foundation Sonoma County was established in 1983.

Our current assets of over $130 million are held in over 450 charitable funds created by individuals, families, community groups and businesses.

We are governed by a Board of Directors representing a cross section of Sonoma County’s business, civic and philanthropic leaders and a President & CEO.

Since inception, the Community Foundation and its donors have awarded $116 million in grants.

We provide grants to neighborhood residents who work together to address and resolve shared issues of concern. We hope to inspire residents to build and strengthen relationships and gain a sense of both belonging and leadership in their neighborhoods. More…

In 1995 when former Santa Rosa Mayor, Charles "Chop" DeMeo chose to leave his $16 million estate for the benefit of Sonoma County teens and homeless mothers, he knew he would be creating a bridge to the future. His legacy, the DeMeo Teen Club, a supporting organization of the Community Foundation, is a perfect example of creating something lasting value that spans generations
